The client's requirements for this project were to replace an unsightly conservatory, with an extension that respected the past of the host dwelling, whilst providing an up-to-date aesthetic and interior space. The house is characterised by steep stone slate roofs, aged stone, and dark windows. The extension references these characteristics whilst offering a complimentary contemporary aesthetic. To preserve existing windows and the original stone detailed entranceway, the extension is connected to the house by way of a glazed link. The result is a striking addition to the property that successfully provides a light and spacious social space which links the house to the garden.
