Almondbury School

This project involved converting an existing school that had remained empty for several years. The proposals, within a conservation area, removed the central assembly hall to create a courtyard, with the surrounding classrooms converted into a range of 2, 3, and 4-bedroom properties. Demolition of the internal walls unearthed large areas of glazed brickwork. These bricks were carefully removed, cleaned up, and incorporated within the design of the courtyard walling at a high level. The completed project was well received and was shortlisted in the RIBA housing awards.
